Last night, the Red Raiders traveled up-Cape to face off with the Blue Knights.

Winners included:

Cole Shechtman with a pin at 126 lbs.
Josh Stanley with a 4-2 decision at 132 lbs.
Mike Stanley with a forfeit at 138 lbs.
Joe Ciliberto (or "Gilberto") with a pin at 145 lbs.
Collin Lane with a forfeit at 160 lbs.
Joe Molina with a pin at 170 lbs.
Daniel Nogueira with a pin at 195 lbs.
Joshua Oliveira with a pin at 220 lbs.

Barnstable will host a quad this Saturday with Carver, Pembroke, and Mount Hope (RI).  Wrestling starts at 10:00.

Barnstable had a busy weekend- Varsity competed at the Cape Cod Invitational on Saturday, and our 8th and 9th graders traveled to Brookline today for the annual "Freshman State Tournament."

On Saturday, three Red Raiders placed first and two others placed:

Mike Stanley- 1st at 138 lbs.
Joey Ciliberto- 1st at 145 lbs.
Texas Molina- 1st at 160 lbs.
Joshua Oliveira- 3rd at 220 lbs.
Collin Lane- 4th at 170 lbs.

Today, all of our eighth and ninth graders placed at the Freshman Tournament.

Jackson Chesbro & Juan Portilla- 2nd place
Alex Fontaine- 3rd place
Nate Ryan & Cole Shechtman- 4th place

Last night, the Red Raiders traveled to Norwood to face off against the Mustangs.  Thanks to six pins and a forfeit, Barnstable came out on top.

Congratulations to Texas, who won the 160 lb. weight class at the Weymouth tournament yesterday!

Thank you to those almuni (wrestlers and Coach Bertucci!) who showed up on Wednesday to watch the Red Raiders beat the Durfee Hilltoppers.  Your support and enthusiasm was contagious and really played a part in the team's success.  Here are a few photos from the night.
