Sophomore captain, Josh Stanley, placed third out of a field of 32 wrestlers in the 145 lb. weight class.  Stanley defeated his first two opponents on Day 1 before falling to Marshfield's Joe Hutt.  On Day 2, he battled his way through three opponents before facing Plymouth South's Hunter Hasenfus in the Consolation final.  Stanley's 12-6 decision over Hasenfus capped off an exciting two days of wrestling.

Sophomore Juan Pablo Dacuba Meira, in his first Marshfield tournament, also made it to Day 2, and finished in twelfth place.  He won three of his matches over the two day tournament.

Tomorrow, our junior varsity wrestlers will get their chance to compete at Marshfield's jv tournament.

Unfortunately, the young Red Raiders couldn't match the experience of our cross-division opponents yesterday.  However, Josh Stanley went undefeated on the day.  Other teammates who pulled out big wins included Ayden Wolfe with a pin against Brockton, and Jackson Chesbro & Brandon Shull with pins against Mansfield.  Additionally, Anthony Figueiredo was awarded a forfeit against Brockton.

Our jv wrestlers looked very strong, as they won most of their matches yesterday!  Up next: The Marshfield Super Quad on Monday

The Red Raiders traveled to Oliver Ames High School today to compete in the Devin Ness Invitational. They faced some tough competition, but there were a few bright spots.

Sophomore Josh Stanley placed third in the 145 lb. weight class.  He finished 3-1 for the day.

Senior Elijah Monteiro (220 lbs.) and freshman Nate Ryan (106 lbs.) each placed fourth in the JV tournament.

Also, congratulations to Tinjing Lama who got his first varsity win today!  

Up next, the Red Raiders will host the Durfee Hilltoppers on Wednesday at 7:00.

Coach Helman announced the 2019-2020 captains: senior Evan Walker and sophomore Josh Stanley. Walker is a fifth year wrestler in the heavyweight class.  Stanley, in his third year at BHS, wrestles at 145 lbs.
