Today, the Red Hawks traveled to Sandwich High School for the Cape Cod League Championship. 

Barnstable faced a very small Nauset team first, and won 24-0. Nate Ryan, Sam Mulkeen-Perry, and Adam Forrest all contributed wins by pin against their opponents. Cole Shechtman was awarded a forfeit. 

Sandwich and Barnstable entered the third round of the championship with a win against Nauset, and tied each other 36-36. Five Red Hawks earned pins: Alex Fontaine, Sophia Simonelli, Brandon Shull, Cole Shechtman, and Josh Stanley. Nate Ryan was given a forfeit. 

Although Barnstable and Sandwich tied each other, per the rules, Sandwich was crowned the league champion since Barnstable had more holes in the line-up which caused forfeits in Sandwich's favor.

Most likely, the Red Hawks will not have another regular season meet. The next event will be the Division 1 South Sectionals next Saturday at Xaverian on February 12th.
